My dissertation research focuses on the lithic archaeological record of Nihewan Basin, China, using a techno-economic approach.

First I reconstruct lithic artifact production sequences within and between archaeological sites at Nihewan. Then I compare measures of lithic productivity and utility within and between the sites.

The results will contribute to regional models of Pleistocene hominin paleoecology and technological change at Nihewan, and hominin evolution in East Asia.
